During the World Cup a referee who confessed to accepting bribes in the Brazilian league will work as a radio commentator. Edilson Pereira de Carvalho said that he had accepted an offer to be a commentator for Sao Paulo's Mix FM station. He admitted to accepting bribes to ensure the outcomes of games in Brazil's top league. Also Carvalho said - we will already begin the tests during the Sao Paulo state championship. I have to survive; I can't count only on my wife's salary. Carvalho's admission prompted Brazil's Superior Tribunal of Sports Justice to annul the 11 matches he officiated and order them to be replayed. Carvalho is suing the Sao Paulo state Soccer Federation for 400,000 rials in past wages and he plans to release a book with more details on the scandal in March. And he even wants to begin writing sports columns for some local newspapers.
