In the Sao Paulo state championship substitute striker Thiago scored a pair of second-half goals and Sao Paulo halted Palmeiras' seven-match winning streak with a 4-2 win. Argentine international Carlos Tevez scored his sixth goal in the last four matches and Corinthians routed Bragantino 4-1 in Sao Paulo on Saturday. At Morumbi Stadium midfielder Danilo put Sao Paulo ahead, shooting across the goal from inside the area in the 44th. And the goal came on a counter initiated by recently acquired striker Alex Dias. He was making his debut with the three-time national champion. In the 90th Sao Paulo midfielder Mineiro secured the victory with a goal. Defending champion Sao Paulo has won two straight and climbed to eighth in the table with 10 points from six matches. Since 1997 the club world champion hasn't lost to Palmeiras in the Sao Paulo state championship.
